The CBBC - Center for Brazilian Biology and Conservation is a multidisciplinary training center established by the IPE in 1998. Its primary purpose is to disseminate our research and conservation experiences since 1992. It was the first center in Brazil to conduct Conservation Biology courses, initially with support from the Smithsonian Institution.
In addition to conservation biology and wildlife management, the CBBC conducts courses on ecological history, public policy and management of socio-environmental resources. Other offerings include training courses in landscape management and restoration, planning and analysis of biodiversity and biological data, sustainability/sustainable business, conflict management/participatory actions, institutional strengthening, proposal development/scientific writing, and management of conservation units.
These courses target a diverse audience composed of students, educators, government, private sector and nongovernmental organizations. Course instructors are Brazilian and foreign professionals with substantial experience in their respective fields, which ensures the quality of our courses.
