IPÊ conducts sustainable development projects that generate resources for local people where research is conducted. With the production and sales of articles such as organic coffee, artifacts (Pontal do Paranapanema region of São Paulo), puppets, T-shirts and other articles (Superagüi region of Paraná), T-shirts and bags (Nazaré Paulista and the Pontal do Paranapanema São Paulo), families who live around protected areas where IPÊ carries out its field studies have been able to significantly increase their stipends, besides having opportunities to raise their awareness to the importance of better protecting the natural environment. The sales of these and other products help IPÊ accomplish its conservation mission and disseminate Brazilian wildlife to different audiences.
