The Ethnobotany and Agroforestry Project seeks to develop ethno-scientific research applied to conservation and cultural appreciation, associated with the implementation of agroforestry systems. This is a way of rebuilding the native agro-biodiverse model and developing potential access to plant resources and food safety. Concurrently, IPÊ carries on activities to raise the awareness of and strengthen the community to manage ecosystems and the landscape.
About 270 riverside families take part in this project. They live in communities on the left margin of the Rio Negro, mainly along the Cuieiras River (a tributary of the Negro).
