The Centro Brasileiro de Biologia da Conservação - CBBC (Brazilian Center for Conservation Biology) is a center for inter-disciplinary teaching founded by IPÊ in 1997 at its headquarters in Nazaré Paulista, Sao Paulo State. Its objective is to share the knowledge gained during twenty years of research and applied projects. In addition to conservation biology related themes, courses include: conservation medicine, wildlife management, sustainable development, environmental education, environmental law, the history of ecology, community-based ecotourism and others that are not being offered elsewhere. As gaps become evident, new courses are planned and offered. An important aspect that may differ from other education centers is the fact that IPÊ combines theory and practice, so that the learning is enhanced by the institutions experience.

The CBBC courses target all segments of society with the idea of offering equal opportunities to all who are interested. IPÊ has established a scholarship fund, with contributions from ex-students and instructors.

Students come from all parts of Brazil and from abroad to attend the many courses offered year round. If at first the main audience was Brazilian students, educators and conservationists, soon it attracted professionals from many parts of Latin America and even from the United States. Every year, the CBBC receives Columbia University's students for the Summer Ecosystem Experiences for Undergraduates - SEE-U, an environmental program offered in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest.
